Today's training produced one very nice target with a single ragged hole in it. Haha okay random, but it was pretty cool.

Went to Vivo today with Yi He and the rest. Bought a pair of Topman jeans for $89, my first ever pair above 50 bucks. How sad. Shall go to orchard tomorrow for more retail therapy =D Shit that sounds so girly but who cares. It's my money.

Going broke soon.

Friday, June 29, 2007

Just reached home and one of the alarm clocks in my parents' room went off. It's been going on for about 10 minutes already, and it's killing me. I could just go upstairs and turn it off, but I won't. Hahaha. Too lazy, and I figure the damn thing can waste some of the battery energy for all I care.

I'm sleepy, but I'm going for training in a short while so. I'm missing amplify session for it, which is a pity cause I really wanted to listen to this guy called Leonard talk about the Bible. Was half done last week. Damn.

Nationals next week! 555! =D

P.S. HAHA my parents came home and my mom turned the thing off already.

Today was quite rewarding, in a sense. But I'm too lazy to talk about it here. Just that we brought shooting suits from CJC to Maris Stella to let the some of the boys from my unit try it on.

Relaxing feels so good after all those exams. Yeah, there're still Chinese tomorrow, and Chemistry SPA on Tuesday, but hey, almost over so yeah. A whole month of feeling the exams looming and now we can finally see the light. I'm trying to multi-task watching Lost online and Prison Break at the same time. It's hard. Hahahaha.

TV time. Off I go.

See, it's 5.12am right now because I woke up earlier to try and finish a bit more chemistry. I'm forsaking all the old chapters already - trying to bank on already existing knowledge, which isn't much. I guess you could say that blogging right now constitutes a short break. Or an immense stupidity. Whichever you like.

Either way chemistry paper is still going to be really screwed.

I might be cold blooded.

Went to Mac this morning to do a bit of studying (I'm still at sigma only T_T, die laaa), went at about 10 and left at around 12. No I'm not shocked cause I'm screwed for midyears, I know that already. My point here is not about the studying or anything like that. I left at around 12 cause I got damn frustrated with maths and there was this group of JC students (haha not saying which here) talking about the stupidest things.

A: "I think MP5 the best."

B: "Oh yeah there's also this one with the scope right, quite good also. Can no scope and kill."

Something along the lines of that. And they were talking about it in that serious tone which I found supremely idiotic. Hahaha. Like WTF a whole group of college students occupying 2 tables talking about stupid things like the guns in CS? LOL. So I left.

But I digress.

Anyway I decided to take a walk around heartland mall, bought a new CD, blablabla, and then....I happened to look at my hands. What freaked me out weren't my hands exactly. I know they're not the nicest pair of hands, like they're not want you want to see in that stupid Pitera SKII commercial, but they're normal la. What weren't normal were my fingernails. See, they were BLUE. Okay not that correct to say they were blue. The nailbeds underneath them were. Well not exactly blue either, but really dark purple. Shit that was damn scary. It was like my hands were dying or something.

Blue (dark purple) nailbeds. Imagine that. They turned back to normal after I spent a bit of time under the sun though. Shit I'm supposed to be studying. Ah well.

Physics today okay la. Definitely can pass, to a certain extent due to my tikam and anyhow do skills careful calculations. It's just a matter of what grade, I guess. Left some blanks but WHO CARES, IT'S OVER. Hahaha.

I'm dead for Math and Chem. I'm still at geometric progression for maths, and haven't touched chemistry at all. Oh well 20% only la I'll buck up next time =D

I can't wait for exams to be over.

90 + 93 + 88 + 94 + 93 + 90 = 547

....for monthly shoot just now. The numbers you see which add up to that score are those for the indivuidual series of 10 shots each. 547 is good, sure, but I'm feeling damn tulan now because it should've been 550+.

For the first time ever in a competitive shoot, I actually shot something lower than a 7. ARGH. Getting a 4 means that you need four tens to bring your average up to 90/100.

Let's play a guessing game now. Out of the six series shown, can you guess in which did I get that 4?

Series 3 because the score was only 88?

Nope. IT WAS IN THE FIRST SERIES, 90/100. Meaning I had four tens, 3 nines and that stupid 4 which happily cancelled out all my tens. I still remember clearly that it was the second shot I fired. I brought the card back, looking for the hole the pellet had made. Couldn't find it in the black area. Then I noticed it was a 4. WTH T_T.

Let's say now, that I DIDN'T shoot a 4. It'd probably be a 9, I'm not going to be all cocky and say it was a sure 10. My score would then be:

547 + 5 = 552

3rd series was an 88. That one was kinda screwed up because I kept getting 9.9s (meaning that it just ALMOST crossed the 10 mark), but not enough tens. Sad.

I am a 550+ shooter. And I will have my revenge during nationals. HAHA shit that sounds so corny.

There were these two spiffy-looking neo-generation playground amenities today. You know how it's like nowdays you don't just have the basic slides and swings at kiddy playgrounds, and they have these 'exercise machines'? It's not the first time I've seen these things, and I've walked past these two a ton of times already, but it was only today that I noticed the names of these things on the metal signboard that indicated how they were to be used:

"Double Lifting and Pushing"

"Double Stretching"

......How creative. Hahaha. Obviously those things aren't called that everywhere, probably just at the place where I took them. Still, let's not go into language use, but a name like 'double stretching' is just weird.

Monthly shoot tomorrow on the day before the exams. Midyears are a goner, but I'll go for 550 for the shoot.

My food intake for Chomp Chomp last night differs from Muthu's:

2 bowls of pasta, one carbonara, one aglio olio (shared)
1 plate of oyster omelette (shared)
1 plate of BBQ stingray (shared)
Various koping of the others' food and sugar cane (priceless)

And then at Ice Cube cafe it was apple crumble pie with ice cream. Shiok.

Now all I need to do is to run it off. @$#%~!

Going for some Youth in the Spirit Seminar session later. Don't know the people there, I'm just hoping it'll be great.

Thursday, June 21, 2007

HAHAHA caught in the act. Muthu was supposed to be studying but decided to take a nap at my house. Lazy shit.

Yeah yeah I'm not studying either. But at least I'm not snoozing like some lazy bastard. Hahaha.

Maths is shit. I'm still at Binomial Theorem at the moment, and I've no idea how to do almost everything else. A 'C' for Maths looks increasingly difficult.

Dinner with Aaron, Yi He and maybe Lian Kai at Chomp Chomp later.

Muthu doesn't make a fool out of himself too often, but when he does it's always a big thing.

Scenario 1:

*walking past the toilet at Serangoon bus interchange*

Me: Eh the toilet smell damn strong la, wth.

Muthu: The one here damn sucky, must kneel down one. None with the toilet bowls to sit.

HAHAHA. He meant squat.

Scenario 2:

*Muthu buys a packet of pocky biscuits and opens from the end instead of tearing along the strip*

Me: HAHAHA dumbshit why you open from the wrong side one!

*Ends up having to eat the biscuits from the opposite end, fingers picking up the chocolated end*

Scenario 3:

*While just chilling out at the playground Muthu trips and falls on some stupid thing cause his legs are too short and he misses his step*

Hahaha sorry if this doesn't make that much sense to everyone else. Muthu is a retard. LOL.

Drew ish hapi cos he hash a lort orf new musiks now.

I have no idea why I did that.

Anyway I just added to my collection Cute is What We Aim For, Travis, Saosin, another From Autumn to Ashes album and The Almost. Good stuff. Thanks Aaron for lending.

Still want to add more stuff to that collection. =D

As every day goes by I get more and more fked for midyears. I'm absolutely ecstatic. It's like being tied down to a railway track while watching a train come hurtling towards you...ouch.

Sunday, June 17, 2007

This is the reason, according to Weiwen after she handed me something and left, why I would, by my own intepretation, make a great debater and possibly a brilliant lawyer in future:

Move it says:
You've got a "Super Guai" look on your face, which make it look innocent. And whatever you shoot, will make the other party admit defeat.

HAHA. But I'm not interested in becoming a lawyer. Or debater.

I'm quite bored. I should be mugging but then studying is boring. Which lead to me being bored so I stopped. I could talk in circles all day but I think I won't. My study ethic remains as bad as ever - in fact I think it's gotten worse, because nowadays I have this apathetic heck-care attitude towards exams. At most study two hours plus lor, then I'm done for the day, no more studying. To hell with what I need to cover for syllabus. Even better is that I don't care that I don't care.

My affiliations with gaming have been almost totally cut off. In the past it used to be that gaming was some sort of an integral part of my life; it was fun. Nowadays I don't have the time, and when I'm free I'm too lazy to bother turning on my 360 cause I'd rather do something else. I was kinda surprised to see that Starcraft 2 had been announced - hadn't kept up with any gaming news for a long time. Weird, isn't it? "Avid gamer weans himself off gaming". That'd be a nice punchline for a self-help article for gaming addicts to cure their insatiable desire to level up their level 263409 character.

Not that I really regret it though. Life's infinitely more busy now, but at the same time so much fuller and richer than before. I guess when Halo 3 comes out I'll go back to gaming again, but it sure won't take up that much of an important place in my priorities list.

I'm listening to The Used's new album as I type this (my order finally came in, was too lazy to camp at HMV to get the new stock), and eating bak kwa at a rate which would see the entire large tupperware full of it reduced to half within 10 minutes. I'm so going to regret eating so much, but for now it tastes damn good. It was the same thing happening yesterday, only with popcorn while watching Ocean's 13. Pretty funny and clever show.

Before I veer completely and irrevocably off the thing I wanted to talk about, The Used's not bad so far. I suspect the songs'll hit radiowaves soon -_-. First it was Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, and now Boys Like Girls, and now it'll most probably happen again. It's cool to know that bands like these make it big, but sucks totally to have small-time gangster wannabes and posers listening to the same stuff as you.

Omg midyears are next week.

My gun has become something of a public good. Not in the proper economics sense, because it doesn't satisfy the characteristics of non-rivalry and non-excludability, but in the layman sense. Everyone's borrowing my gun to use for training and competitions, like what the hell la, I don't even like the gun assigned to me in the first place - it's a manual and there's a ton of blu-tack stuck to it so that the grip'll fit for me. I'm fine with the blu-tack, except the only problem is that the grip gets damn slippery after I hold the gun for a while cause of it. It's just good cause it's hand-pumped, meaning that I've no worries about it running out of gas for training at St Pat's. And it's sighted to me. Still, that LP2 looks pretty shiny.

ATC was tiring, but ultimately rewarding. Was I/C for tentage and area cleaning, instructor for group 1 and was an orienteering instructor for Day 2. 9 hours of walking around is no shit. Tentage stuff was a bit screwed up, but I think I sorta made up for it with the handling of area cleaning. When you do such stuff you usually don't expect any reward, but I guess mine came in the form of knowing that the cadets under me left learning something, and when they came together just before camp closing to thank me as a group, some of the tiredness went away.

Anyway here's a random pic of LMSC, a squad photo of the cadets whom I took only briefly cause I wasn't present for the mornings during the course.

So much has happened over the past few days, and I've so little time to say it. Just came back from con camp and I'm leaving for ATC tomorrow. Lots of stuff to be settled, but at the same time, I don't want the memories to fade away.

It's only been a couple of hours after con camp, and I miss it already. The practices with the band, the fun we had from the company all the way to the three days of camp itself - facilitating and playing the keyboard (which still was sadly lacking in skill, the people I've met), realising how much I actually love my godsisters and God - the entire experience I'll never forget. Con camp wasn't just for the teens. I'm sure the facilitators and youth catechists all had a wonderful experience too. Thank you God for everything. I really don't want to let go, and in some ways I don't have to. People have asked me to join SALT, and I'm considering but I really don't know. My reasons for not wanting to join it initially are still there, and yet I don't want to miss out. This is a chance for me to stay at that level of connection I'm feeling with Him now. Maybe you could call it ambivalence.

ATC tomorrow is, for my part still somewhat messy. I haven't had the time to iron things out. I don't know what's going to happen, but I'll pray it'll turn out alright. I've to admit I never really was an outdoor person, so I never liked ATC that much either. But then this camp isn't for me, it's for the cadets so I've got to tell myself that. It's just, I'm so tired.

Had a haircut today and it turned out horrible. It's totally fugly la.

NUSIS. I shot a 542, Irvis 533 and Keith 525. We won team 2nd with 1600 points, losing to MJC by only 10 points. Didn't attend the prize presentation because I was away at con camp. I only regret having an 86 series, which was a waste. The other 5 series were all above 90 except for one 89. 550 for nationals here I come.

Still thinking about con camp. Thank you Lord again.

So You Would Come
Before the world began
You were on His mind
And every tear you cry
Is precious in His eyes
Because of His great love
He gave His only Son
Everything was done
So you would come
Nothing you can do
Could make Him love you more
And nothing that you've done
Could make Him close the door
Because of His great love
He gave His only Son
Everything was done
So you would come
Come to the Father
Though your gift is small
Broken hearts, broken lives
He will take them all
The power of the Word
The power of His blood
Everything was done
So you would come

School team training at St Pat's today. Got my shooting glasses. I don't normally post pictures of my cards but this was something of an injustice la.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

NUSIS is tomorrow. If I can shoot like that for all 6 series I'll be godlike, nevermind the 8. It's a 94/100 for this card by the way.

94 x 6 = 564 (holy shit)

Went for weekday evening mass with Gen and the others today. First time going for such a mass. Had no idea what the person reading the scirpture passage was saying. Haha. Dinner after that at rm and then went home.

540 for NUSIS.
540 for NUSIS.
540 for NUSIS.
540 for NUSIS.
540 for NUSIS.

I'm taking life one day at a time right now.

Not cause it's the holidays so I can relax. It's cause if I look at what's ahead of me I keep getting the sinking feeling that I'm effing screwed. My schedule is quite packed, with two camps back-to-back. Con camp and then ATC. Here's a nice brief idea of what I have in store:

Tomorrow 6/6/07 (which is actually today since it's 1.15am)

Morning 9.30 - Team training at St Pat's
Afternoon 1pm - Rush down to Bartley Secondary School to help out with the Leadership and Mentoring Skills Course
Evening 5.30pm - Church

Thursday 7/6/07

Morning 8am - NUS Invitation Shoot
Afternoon 1pm - Rush down to Bartley Sec again
Evening 5.30pm - Band practice at church

Friday to Sunday - Confirmation Camp

Monday to Wednesday - ATC

Seems quite manageable, until you take into account all the stuff I still have to settle for ATC and other things. I feel sorry for Aggie, cause her schedule's worse than mine. She doesn't even have time to study. I've at least got the last 2 weeks. Not that it'll do shit for my Maths, which continues to suck ass at JC level.

Sunday, June 03, 2007

Con camp is 5 days away. Omg la, and I'm still terrible at the songs. Must practice! I'm praying that God will help the band. If He brings us to it, He will see us through it.

Anyway here are a couple of photos from CJCIS:

Um yeah that's it at the moment. There're more but I forgot the link so I've to wait for Huixin to provide it to me again =)

Damn tired now. Slept at 2 plus, almost 3am and woke at 7 plus. Shall go sleep.

Saturday, June 02, 2007

Andrew is not a very happy boy today. He's slightly consoled because of the sliverware he got, but only slightly because it came cheap.

Greenridge Invitational Shoot was today, CJC Invitational yesterday. I participated in both, won stuff for both.

The trick is to never be content with being less than first, I should think. I'll admit I'm happy we won stuff. Team 2nd and Individual 3rd for CJCIS and Individual 1st for Greenridge IS, but then it's really not just about the prizes. 529 and 524 respectively. I can make excuses about it being HTNS - the 'cursed' place for many shooters, that my gun wasn't sighted, muscles were aching, used some stupid rubbish HTNS gun for Greenridge IS blablabla, but there'll be no end if I start. Really. HTNS is just another place to shoot, I think the reason why people shoot poorly there is only because of the mental stigma they already have attached to it saying it's okay for them to screw up because everybody does. It's not la.

I'm not too disappointed with my score for Greenridge, didn't bother pushing myself to get a good score anyway. I was just there to win the medal, no need for frills. Not getting team champion was a waste though.

The fact still remains that I didn't hit 540. I think to a certain extent the gun I'm using now is limiting my ability. I can probably hit 540 with the manual I'm using now, but I think I'd do better with a compressed air gun. I dunno.

LOTS OF STUFF TO DO. And I'm still blogging. Haha.

Edit: I noticed I used the word 'stuff' 3 times in this post. lol
